The Kenison Award

The Kenison Award, names for Nehemiah Kenison, a visionary leader in the profession of chiropody in the mid 1800's, recognizes individuals who have made outstanding efforts and contributions to podiatric medical students and the podiatry profession. Each year, The Kenison Award recipient is selected by the APMSA House of Delegates from a pool of individuals nominated by students. As APMSA's highest award, The Kenison Award has a long history of recipients throughout the profession for greatness.

Student of the Year Award

Each year, a 3rd year student nominated by a respective classmate, clinician, or member of faculty, is selected by the APMSA Presidents' Committee to receive the APMSA Student of the Year Award. The recipient of the APMSA Student of the Year Award will receive a $1,000 APMSA scholarship applied to tuition from the APMA Educational Foundation. In addition, APMSA will cover the costs for the recipient to attend APMSA's House of Delegates meeting, where the award will be presented.

Leadership Award 

The APMSA Leadership Award is presented to a member of the House of Delegates who has made the most outstanding effort and contribution to the HOD and students. This award honors the delegate who has consistently worked to further APMSA goals and has shown outstanding leadership both locally and nationally. The award recipient will be announced at the House of Delegates meeting. 

Outstanding Achievement Award

Selected by APMSA President and President-Elect, the APMSA Outstanding Achievement Award (previously titled "MVP" Award) is presented to a member of the House of Delegates that has demonstrated the most significant contributions during the HOD meeting, whether that be through discussion contributions, volunteer efforts, or presentation of action items. All members of the APMSA House of Delegates are eligible for this award and will be awarded at the end of each HOD meeting.

President's Award

The APMSA President may designate one delegate to recognize annually for exemplary service to the president during their term.  

Partner of the Year Award

The APMSA House of Delegates may select one organization to be named Partner of the Year. The organization who receives this award is recognized for their meritorious service and support of APMSA during the preceding year.
